Volkswagen’s extensive past has been produced around years of experience with elite standards in all of their vehicles and products, and more specifically, accessory parts and components. The Volkswagen Jetta has been being manufactured since 1979 and is basically the sedan version of the Volkswagen Golf. This vehicle also is renowned through other names, including, the Atlantic, Bora, Fox, Vento, and Sagitar. The original equipment manufacturer's horn is a part that VW enthusiasts regularly replace with louder aftermarket horn. This process is pretty easy, as you will only have to use a couple of basic tools. First, give FCP Euro a call or check out our Volkswagen horn selection right here on the website. When you have the horn you feel is best for your VW, you are ready to install it. Find the original equipment manufacturer's horns on your Volkswagen. The horns are located behind your vehicle’s fog lights. The high-toned horn is on your VW’s driver side and the low-leveled horn is on the passenger side. Detach the power connector from both of your horns and take off the bolt from each of the brackets with a socket wrench or Phillips screwdriver, then take off the original horns. FCP Euro has a massive selection of Volkswagen accessory parts and components, including a stockade of all Volkswagen parts.

Plug the original power connectors into your new Volkswagen horns if possible. If they are not a solid fit with your new horns, d not worry, you just need to use your wire crimper/stripper to link the original wiring to your new harnesses. Make sure to mount the new horns using nuts and washers. Secure the horns to the original holes, if possible, with a Phillips screwdriver or socket wrench. Usually, the ohmmeter has to show the same resistance when you connect its leads to terminals 85 and 86 and then switch the leads' positions. This means the relay is set with the resistor. If the relay has a diode and is in not functioning properly, the resistance should be greater with the ohmmeter in the forward polarity direction. Next, swap out the relay if it shows infinite resistance in either direction. There should not be continuity of voltage between terminals 30 and 87 when your VW’s relay is not connected. Check your the new horns to make sure they are working and connect one horn at a time if you are not sure both are functioning properly.
